Greening Lilongwe Campaign is an initiative of the Lilongwe City Council (LCC) in collaboration with the Lilongwe Chapter of the Global Landscapes Forum (GLFx Lilongwe) and the Open Spaces Inc. to restore degraded open spaces and riverine buffer zones, establish green schools, offices and homesteads, and plant avenue trees along the major roadsides in the City. The initiative will also include restoration of the city’s Area 18 Cemetery. The initiative will make the Lilongwe City greener, heathier and resilient to extreme climate change events and other shocks.
